Health Benefits include:

Tomatoes: Contain Lycopene, an antioxidant linked with anti-carcinogenic properties, especially within the prostate gland. Contain high quantities of potassium, folate & vitamin K.

Egg: Contain Vitamin B2, Vitamin D & Selenium. Vitamin D is vital to bone health and is rarely found in food sources. Eggs contain a great source of protein. 

Turmeric: Contains the active compound Curcumin, believed in ayurvedic medicine to have potent anti-inflammatory effects. It is fat soluble so the presence of yogurt in the raita increases its bioavailability. Its activated by piperine, the alkaloid found in the black pepper of the masala spice blend 

Chilli: Stimulates chemesthesis, the bodies response to irritation. This can then support the immune system

Carrots: Contain Beta Carotene which is converted by the body to Vitamin A. this is vital for normal growth and development in addition to supporting macular health. 

Pistachio: One of the richest food sources of Vitamin B6 which is vital to blood sugar regulation and the formation of haemoglobin.

Orange: Source of Vitamin C which is essential for Iron absorption by cells and immune support 

Coconut: High in Manganese which plays a role in protein and carbohydrate metabolism. Also contains Medium Chain Triglycerides that, when eaten in moderation, provide an immediate source of energy as they are used directly in cellular metabolism. The presence of phenolic compounds also ascertains an antioxidant effect on cells. High levels of Lauric acid in coconut may have anticarcinogenic effects.

Pomegranate: Contains more than 100 phytochemicals in the form of polyphenols. These protect the body from cellular damage resulting from exposure to free radicals.

Cardamom: Linked to the regulation of Blood Pressure due to its diuretic properties which decreases the water load within the body, thus reducing the strain on the heart. 

Lentils: Comprise more than 25% protein making them a fantastic plant based alternative to meat. Are a good source of B Vitamins, Magnesium and Zinc

Buckwheat: Increases microbiome diversity and acts as a non-gluten based source of fibre. Has been linked to lowering LDL (bad cholesterol) levels in humans.

With a degree in Biological Sciences and a Professional Chef Diploma, Suze is passionate about nutrition and the unique pairings of volatile compounds in food. Having worked in some Michelin starred restaurants, she now finds her satiation in developing recipes from her Dorset Kitchen.

She devotes her time to creating recipes with a more wholesome and holistic approach to health and has written two eBooks with a third hoping to be published.

Watercress is central to many of her creations, not only for its aromatic compounds, but also for its nutritional value.
